Christmas festivities in Bridgend

Christmas festivities in Bridgend

There are plenty of events and activities in Bridgend County Borough’s town centres to keep the whole family entertained this year. Here’s some we’re looking forward to enjoying or taking part in:

Upcoming events and seasonal activities

  • Artisan Christmas Food, Craft and Gift Market – Local markets featuring independent producers, crafters and artisan makers. Why not meet friends and family, while supporting local shops and enjoying tasty treats?
  • Santa’s Grotto – Meet Santa and join Bridgend Lions in their Christmas Grotto with all the family.
  • Victorian Christmas – Enjoy a Victorian Christmas at Porthcawl Museum. Get dressed up, watch re-enactors, enjoy the snow machine or join in with the Christmas carols.

Christmas lights

If you missed the Christmas lights switch on, you can still enjoy the glow in Bridgend town centre or surrounding town centres. Whether you’re Christmas shopping or out for a stroll, take a moment to enjoy the festive lights and decorations around you. Let us know which ones are your favourites.

Seasonal stories

Did you know there’s lots of festive fun going on at your local library? From learning Christmas songs on a ukulele, to story time with Father Christmas himself. Find what’s on each week with Awen.

Winter wanders

Make your own winter wonderland this season with exciting reindeer trails and adventure playgrounds at Bryngarw Country Park. There’s even live music events and carol singing this month. Or why not make your own nature trail and adventures across a series of parks and playfields near you. Don’t forget to wrap up warm!

Christmas communities

How about checking out your local community centre or community hall? Many are hosting Christmas crafts, activities or get-togethers. Join in or meet up with others in your community to celebrate the holidays.

Volunteer

If you’ve got into the community spirit, you may like to volunteer this Christmas or across the holiday season, and share your time with those who need it this winter. It’s a wonderful opportunity to give something back to your community but also to be part of your community and meet others. Or start feeling motivated for the new year ahead with the sports and activities available at your local fitness centre. You can even climb mountains at the local indoor climbing centre.
