Vaccination Update for unpaid carers in priority group 6

By PYB Health
Monday, March 8, 2021

Unpaid carers in Cwm Taf Morgannwg can now check their eligibility for a COVID-19 vaccination through our online form

Revised national guidance from the JCVI describes unpaid carers as:

Those who are eligible for a carer’s allowance, or those who are the sole or primary carer of an elderly or disabled person who is at increased risk of COVID-19 mortality and therefore clinically vulnerable.

Those clinically vulnerable to COVID include children with severe neuro-disabilities, those who are designated Clinically Extremely vulnerable (CEV), adults who have underlying health conditions and those who need care because of advanced age. Eligible carers should be vaccinated in priority group 6.

Please read the guidance in full by following this link: COVID-19 vaccination of unpaid carers

Once you have read the above guidance, you need to fill in our vaccine eligibility form (link below).

If you meet the criteria, once you have submitted your details an appointment letter will be sent to you (within three weeks from completing the form) to attend one of our community vaccination centres in Cwm Taf Morgannwg.

Please do not contact your GP. They are not offering vaccination to unpaid carers.

Please remember if you do not meet the eligibility criteria that it is our aim to vaccinate priority groups 5 to 9 by mid-April, and offer all eligible adults in CTM UHB a vaccination by the end of July.
