The Oxford-AstraZeneca Vaccine: an update for our patients

Today, the 30th December, is a great day in the progress towards putting an end to the COVID-19 pandemic that has disrupted life as we know it in 2020. We of course know that this news also brings with it many questions from our patients. We will hopefully know more in the coming days.

Our Health Board have asked GP surgeries to deliver the vaccines when they become available in priority order, as illustrated within the image shown. Therefore we know at this point that we will initially be administering the vaccine to our over 80s and frontline staff. Our surgeries will be in touch with patients via phone, text or letter as soon as we know with any certainty the numbers of doses we will be receiving and when we will be receiving them. At this point this is as much of an update that we can give you.

We ask patients to be patient and not to ring surgeries as we are already stretched as you can imagine. We will be in touch with those eligible as soon as we can to organise their vaccination. It will be our mission to get our patients vaccinated as quickly as we can so please trust that we will come to you as soon as we can.

Please continue to follow guidelines and stay safe. Many thanks.
